This product uses MCP9700 which is a small thermistor type temperature sensor. The output of it will change depending on the temperature in Celsius, for example, it will give an output of 0.5V when the temperature is 0, 0.75V when the temperature is 25 Celsius, 10mV per degree Celsius.


In order to establish the local ambient temperature, there should be some sort of conversion from analog to digital on the signal line, and last but not least, with this sensor you can actually detect physical touch based on body heat and ambient conditions, which is very fascinating.


What is a LilyPad? Basically, it’s a wearable technology, it’s designed in a way that accepts having large connecting pads, this allows them to be sewn into clothing, they’re washable, and also many inputs, outputs, power, and sensor boards are available.
