LilyPad Arduino SimpleSnap
LilyPad Arduino SimpleSnap is an easy way that helps in creating e-textiles projects using LilyPad, they’re modular, and most importantly, they can be broken down, which is really helpful in prototyping. This product is very similar to the Simple board in the functionality; however, there are two basic differences that are considered very special, which are:
1) Built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery
2) Female snap connectors
In addition to that, the main reason in adding fabric snaps to the board, it becomes possible to add this board to SimpleSnap Protoboard, or another option is the rearrangement of sew-on fabric snaps, which means that the board can be removed from the project for washing; this means that multiple projects can be used on the same board. But be careful, DO NOT wash the SimpleSnap because then the battery itself can get affected and damaged.
What about charging the on-board Lithium Polymer’s battery? It can be charged by attaching an FTDI breakout which is the same board used for programming, and just like the Simple, the SimpleSnap can be also programmed in Arduino!
LilyPad is a wearable technology, it’s designed in a way that accepts having large connecting pads, this allows them to be sewn into clothing, they’re washable, and also many inputs, outputs, power, and sensor boards are available.
